Key Responsibilities
The selected Consultant - Senior Legal Expert, Publishing will be responsible for the following key project deliverables:
- Coordinate, draft, and execute key project deliverables in support of the International Organization's operational publishing objectives in multiple destinations.
- Provide authoritative legal counsel on intellectual property rights, copyright laws, and complex publishing agreements.
- Collaborate effectively with internal legal divisions and external international stakeholders to mitigate operational and legal risks.
- Provide legal oversight and quality assurance on multi-jurisdictional publishing projects to ensure strict compliance with international standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
To qualify for this senior-level legal consultancy position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Law, with a specialized focus on intellectual property or international publishing law.
- Experience: A minimum of 8–10 years of progressive professional experience as a legal expert, preferably within an international organization, NGO, or multinational publishing house.
- Technical Skills: Proven expertise in drafting, negotiating, and executing publishing contracts and partnership agreements.
- Leadership: Demonstrated professional leadership, strategic analytical capabilities, and excellent intercultural communication skills.
- Languages: Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is highly advantageous.
